Meet The Captain

Born shortly after this country’s involvement in WW II in the refinery town of Port Arthur Capt. Cecil graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School where many of his class mates and childhood acquaintances would go on to notorieties of their own. Some would become mayors, statesmen, sing about “dialing for dollars” and own supper bowl rings. Marrying his childhood sweet heart they have been devoted to each other for over fifty years. Their three children and three grandchildren all love the outdoors. Their youngest son is fly fishing and hunting guide on the central Texas waterways and a professional fly tier. Captain Cecil has been making his way on the water for over fifty years. You can read some of his experiences in the “Reflections”. He is a USCG licensed captain holding a Masters License, licensed with the Texas Parks and Wildlife with a All Water Guide License and certified by the Corpus Christi Visitors Bureau as a Wildlife Guide

He is a member of the Coastal Bend Guides Association and a member of The National Association Of Charter Boat Operators. Captain Cecil was introduced to fishing at an early age by people who influenced him for his entire life. In the section marked “Reflections” are articles detailing events and experiences over the years that will give some insight as to the experiences that brought him to where he is today. He is grateful to these people who have shown him the way over the years and is always eager to pass on his knowledge and experience to others.

His goal on every trip is to show his fishermen a good day, catch fish, enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and get everyone home safely. He enjoys working with the young angler helping them get the most of the day from learning to cast, rig a bait, or throwing a cast net.
